The "Seeing Comprehension" program offers new ways of experiencing art and visiting the museum. Along with the educational events, the program also suggests experimental ways of reinventing the museum through the medium of theatre. The first experiment for immersive theater in mtook place in 2021 with the performance "Packaged audio guide" written by Martina Novakova and Miguel Valentin and directed by Vasilena Radeva.
"The framer's daughter" is the new performance by Martina Novakova based on the author's text and with the participation of Dimitar Nikolov, Evgenia Angelova and Valeria Georgieva, with music and sound design by Alexander Evtimov - Shamancheto. "The framer's daughter" is a live and headphones theatrical performance, a walk through the museum, a personal narrative and a reflection on art and its intersections with life and theater. The audio performance is held for small groups of up to 25 people and offers intimateo experience in the halls of the National Gallery - Square 500.
"I imagine a group of people in the National Gallery.
I imagine a secret society led by a child's voice.
They are here because they are looking for something.
They look through the frames.
I imagine them performing elaborate choreography for a work of art. I imagine two figures on the bank of a great river watching the National Gallery set sail and set sail…”
